Common questions
You submit an application telling us about your business, the tier you’d like, and the sub-category that fits. Our editorial team reviews your website for eligibility and relevance to our readers. If approved, we send a secure Stripe payment link for the tier you selected. Once payment clears, your listing goes live.
We check whether your business genuinely serves expats moving to or living in the UK, whether your service is legitimate and well-reviewed, and whether we’d be comfortable recommending it to our own readers. Decisions are made on editorial merit — not on the tier you applied for.
If we decline your application, we’ll let you know briefly why. We’re happy to review a fresh submission after 3 months, or sooner if significant changes have addressed the original concerns. Because we don’t take payment until after approval, there’s nothing to refund if we decline.
Every listed business gets a standard HTML link to their website with no rel=nofollow attribute. This means search engines treat the link as a genuine editorial recommendation, which can support your own site’s search visibility. All three tiers include this — the difference between tiers is placement and reach, not link type.
Each tier covers one sub-category. If your business genuinely serves multiple distinct sub-categories, you can purchase additional listings — get in touch and we’ll discuss the best structure. We don’t allow keyword-stuffed multi-category listings for the same service.
Each sub-category has 3 priority positions and 9 standard positions. If the top 3 are already taken when you apply for Plus or Premium, we’ll let you know during the review stage and offer the next available opening or a related sub-category. We never take payment for a position we can’t deliver.
Our editorial team selects up to 3 articles where your service is genuinely relevant to the topic, with combined annual readership of at least 50,000 views. Placements are marked as Premium Partner with the rel=sponsored attribute, in line with our editorial integrity rules. Premium partners don’t choose specific articles — relevance is editorially decided.
Prices listed are the final amount payable. We are not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is charged or shown separately on your invoice.
No. Each listing runs for 12 months from the date of publication. We contact you a month before expiry to discuss renewal — you decide whether to continue, change tier, or stop. There is no automatic billing.
Because we only take payment after approving your application, refunds are rare. If we publish your listing and a verifiable error on our side prevents it appearing as agreed, we’ll either correct it promptly or refund the prorated balance. We don’t refund for changes of mind after publication.
Our editorial position
Editorial review is how we keep this directory trustworthy
Every applicant goes through editorial review before we accept payment.
What we check: Your website, your track record, and whether you genuinely serve expats moving to or living in the UK. Decisions are made on editorial merit — the same questions a careful reader would ask before booking a service.
If we decline: We’re happy to review a fresh submission after 3 months, or sooner if significant changes have addressed the original concerns. Because we don’t take payment until after approval, there’s nothing to refund if we decline.
